Verstappen: 2022 success will be 'hard' to replicate

Max Verstappen believes his record-breaking 2022 Formula 1 success will "be hard to replicate" following his 15th win at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Verstappen dominated at Yas Marina, easing to a 34th career win and third successive in the season finale.

He finished 146 points ahead of Charles Leclerc in the standings, but feels that a stronger challenge from Mercedes and Ferrari could be incoming for 2023.

Verstappen on 2022 success

"It's been really enjoyable to work with the whole team and to be able to achieve something like this," Verstappen explained.

"I know it's going to be hard to replicate something like this [next year], but it's also very good motivation to try and do well again next year.

"It was a good race, but was all about tyre management. We looked after the Mediums well, and then it was all about managing the Hard tyres to the end.

"To win here again and 15 times this season is unbelievable."
