Yuki Tsunoda is hoping that "big updates " planned for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix will get AlphaTauri back on track , after a disappointing start to the season. The AlphaTauri driver qualified in P17 but managed to recover to P11 in Miami after pulling off moves in the opening stages of the race, notably running side-by-side with Zhou Guanyu at the Turn 14 chicane before using his straight-line speed to get past at Turn 17. AlphaTauri Team Principal Franz Tost says Yuki Tsunoda needs another year under his belt before he could reasonably be considered for a promotion to Red Bull. Yuki Tsunoda believes Zhou Guanyu "pretended" to go off the track after the Spanish Grand Prix Formula 1 crash that cost the former a points finish. On Lap 56 of 66 in Barcelona, Zhou attempted to drive around the outside of Tsunoda at Turns 1 and 2, but was forced into the escape road by the AlphaTauri driver, with both continuing on unscathed.
