Leclerc addresses Binotto Ferrari replacement rumours

Charles Leclerc believes his close relationship with Frederic Vasseur "should not influence" the decision-making process as Ferrari hunt for a new Formula 1 Team Principal. Mattia Binotto handed in his resignation from the Scuderia after the 2022 campaign was over, as Ferrari finished second in both championships as Leclerc was runner-up to Max Verstappen. However, given the speed of the F1 -75, more was expected with Binotto paying the price for failing to claim a first championship since the 2008 Constructors.' He is set to leave the team at the end of the season, with Alfa Romeo boss Frederic Vasseur touted as a possible replacement. Vasseur ran Leclerc at Sauber in his debut campaign of 2018 as well as working with him during his junior days - but Leclerc is adamant that this relationship should not determine whether the Frenchman is given the job. Marko addresses Vettel replacement rumours

Helmut Marko has addressed claims that Sebastian Vettel could take over from him as head of Red Bull's young Formula 1 driver programme. Vettel retired from F1 at the end of 2022 with 53 wins and four world titles, having been the first driver to graduate to Grand Prix racing from the young Red Bull programme in 2007. He would win the first race for Toro Rosso (now AlphaTauri) and the senior Red Bull team, claiming four of their six drivers' titles - with fellow graduate Max Verstappen the other two. Owing to his racing experience, push for equality and raising awareness of climate change, Vettel has been touted as an ideal replacement for Marko - who turns 80 on Thursday and whom has addressed those claims. "We are still in contact," Marko explained to Blick.
