Sargeant apologetic to Williams after 'painful' mistake
Logan Sargeant has expressed his apologies to Williams after a mistake in the early stages of the Miami Grand Prix led to a "painful" race.
The American started his home event from the back of the grid and attempted a move on Lance Stroll during the opening lap, only to make contact with the Aston Martin.
Damage sustained to his FW45 meant that Sargeant had to make a pit stop and he feels that the incident ultimately ruined the rest of his Grand Prix, which he went on to finish in last place. Sargeant: I put the car where I shouldn't have "I think the start itself was okay," Sargeant told media, including TheFOXposts.Com .
"I probably just put the car in a place I shouldn't have in that second sector and took my front wing off. That ruined the race from there."
Despite this, Sargeant has taken a positive from his tyre management, having made a one-stop strategy work for the entirety of the race.
