Daniel Ricciardo has been announced as Red Bull's reserve driver for the 2023 season, joining forces with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Following Ricciardo's exit from McLaren at the end of this season after a two-year spell, the Australian will make a return to the Milton Keynes team as third driver. Red Bull confirmed that his role will focus on test outings, simulator work and commercial activities with the team. FE announces another new venue as full 2023 calendar confirmed

Formula E will race in Portland for the first time in 2023 to ensure the United States remains on the calendar in season nine of the electric racing championship. Previous E-Prixs in America have been held in Brooklyn, New York but renovation work at the dockside venue meant that it is unable to host an event in the coming season - one that will feature all-new cars. The decision was confirmed at a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council, with the calendar set to feature 16 races across 11 countries from January to July. Countries like India, South Africa and Brazil are set to host their first E-Prixs, while the full Monaco Grand Prix layout also returns. The Gen3 cars will feature in-race re-charging for the first time, with drivers being forced to swap cars mid-race in Gen1, while there is a power boost from the Gen2 era which closed at the end of season eight. ...

More details have been confirmed on a Formula 1 team that could be a contender to join the grid from 2026, as revealed by TheFOXposts.Com . The 'Formula Equal' project by Craig Pollock will have backing from a "Gulf area country", with speculation that it could be Saudi Arabia. TheFOXposts.Com exclusively approached Prince Khalid, President of the Saudi Motorsport Federation, who stopped short of confirming their involvement in the project: "It is too early to go into these kind of details." Speaking in an interview with CNN , Pollock admitted: "We are in intense discussions with I would just say a Gulf area country. “I’m not really in the position to talk about that and be fully open about it at this present time – that will come out in the very near future.
