FIA will not “jump gun” with Horner probe, despite situation “damaging the sport”

Horner has been at the centre of a probe by the Red Bull energy drinks company over claims of inappropriate behaviour made against him by a female employee. Following an eight-week-long investigation by an independent barrister, it was announced on Wednesday night that the complaints against him had been dismissed as there was no evidence of any wrongdoing. However, matters took a twist over the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend when anonymous emails were sent to senior F1 personnel, including team bosses, the FIA and FOM chiefs, and media, revealing an alleged dossier of documents at the centre of the matter. Elements of those documents, the veracity of which has not been confirmed by Red Bull, have subsequently leaked out and grabbed headlines around the world. Vettel suggests changes for F1 after leaving the sport

Sebastian Vettel believes that Formula 1 can do more to earn 'credibility' with the general public. With the sport is aiming to tackle a range of issues in the coming years, such as equality and sustainability, retiring World Champion believes F1 could do more to be 'transparent' with the fans. Vettel, who retired from Formula 1 at the season-ending race in Abu Dhabi, was asked what changes he would make to the sport . "I think in general, more transparency, I think the world is opening up," Vettel responded to media, including TheFOXposts.Com , before suggesting that more actions were needed for F1 to meet their own goals. "F1 should lead [with] some more transparency, more credibility with all the claims and all the things that we are saying [that] we're doing and wanting to do in the future. FIA President warns social media abuse could damage sport 'beyond repair'

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem has warned that ignoring social media abuse within F1 could cause damage "beyond repair". There have been incidences during the 2022 season of abuse aimed at different drivers, individuals and teams across the paddock, as well as stewards. One of these cases involved abuse being directed at FIA steward Silvia Bellot in the aftermath of Fernando Alonso receiving a 30-second time penalty after the United States Grand Prix, a punishment that was later withdrawn following an appeal from Alpine. Alonso spoke out to condemn the abuse aimed at Bellot, calling it "hateful behaviour". Ben Sulayem has reiterated that he is determined to fight any incidences like this.
