Ferrari junior driver Arthur Leclerc, brother of Charles Leclerc , will join the Formula 2 grid in 2023 with DAMS. Leclerc steps up to the F1 feeder series after two seasons in Formula 3, where he scored two victories in his rookie season in 2020 at Le Castellet and Zandvoort. This year he finished sixth in the Drivers' Championship after a single victory at Silverstone. His first taste of F2 machinery will be with DAMS at the post-season test at Yas Marina this week between 23-25 November. “I’m delighted to be making the step up to Formula 2 with DAMS in 2023. They’re a very successful team that has achieved great results in the championship, and I hope I can be a part of that and continue the team’s success,” said Leclerc. Viewed by others: Williams ...

Hamilton proud as disabled brother spends day in Mercedes F1 simulator

Lewis Hamilton has praised Mercedes for helping his brother Nicolas' dream come true by allowing him to spend a day in the team's F1 simulator. Like his older half-brother, Nicolas is a racing driver and competes in the British Touring Car Championship. The 30-year-old has cerebral palsy and races with a specially-modified car. Now the younger Hamilton has added another achievement to his CV after getting behind the wheel of the Mercedes sim, making him the first disabled person to do so. His proud big brother shared photos of the occasion on social media and revealed the background of how it had come to fruition, with the family having first asked the team about the possibility earlier in the year. De Vries on Verstappen history: He is like my older brother

Incoming AlphaTauri driver Nyck de Vries has provided an insight into the dynamic between himself and reigning World Champion Max Verstappen. After a successful audition at the 2022 Italian GP, De Vries secured his first full-time F1 race seat with AlphaTauri, and will drive alongside Yuki Tsunoda this season. The Dutchman was previously unaffiliated with the Red Bull junior team, having previously been Mercedes test and reserve driver. His points-scoring debut at Monza was enough for compatriot Verstappen, among others, to publicly back De Vries for a 2023 seat. The 2023 season will be the first time two Dutchmen have competed on the same F1 grid since 2006, when Robert Doornbos raced for Red Bull and Christijan Albers drove for Midland.
