Lewis Hamilton does not feel that 2022 was his toughest season in F1, though acknowledges that it is probably in the "top three" of his hardest years. The campaign marked the first time in the Briton's Formula 1 career that he has not recorded a race win, with his best result being second place which he achieved at five Grands Prix. His final position of sixth in the World Championship was also his lowest placing so far. However, this does not mean that Hamilton considers the season as his worst in the sport. Max Verstappen has detailed why he believes street circuits have become "the worst experience" and is against F1 prioritising new street circuit locations. Verstappen pinpoints worst weekend from title-winning 2022

Max Verstappen has highlighted the Singapore Grand Prix weekend as the worst in his all-conquering second Formula 1 championship winning season. Verstappen crushed the field in 2022, claiming 15 wins from 22 races plus victory in two of the three Sprint events to host new records for most wins and points in a single season, respectively. Following a second place finish in Austria, Verstappen would go onto win nine of the remaining 11 races of the season, with Singapore and Brazil the two he did not after various incidents in both. While Red Bull admitted to set-up mistakes at Interlagos, errors in Singapore cost Verstappen throughout the weekend.
