Christian Horner believes that Red Bull have learned from their " mistakes " following the team orders controversy involving Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Verstappen refused to let Perez by on the final lap of the race when asked by the team, with the Dutchman stating over the radio: "I gave my reasons and I stand by it." In response, Perez said over his own radio that the incident would show "who he really is" in reference to Verstappen, though later admitted that he regretted his remarks. Ferrari must make addressing their reliability concerns their "top priority" in the off-season, according to boss Mattia Binotto. Charles Leclerc admits that he has no intention of changing his openly critical approach to both his and Ferrari 's mistake s. After a strong start to the 2022 season, the team suffered a number of issues during the campaign, including strategic problems and driver errors. They ultimately finished P2 in the Constructors' Championship, 205 points away from Red Bull at the top.
