Formula 1 is open to the possibility of revamping how DRS works during Grands Prix - with trial s set to take place in the 2023 sprint races . The proposal from the meeting of the F1 Commission in Abu Dhabi has proposed activation of DRS to be brought forward one lap upon the start and restart of races from the current period of two laps. It is hoped by the Commission - attended by the likes of FIA President Mohammed ben Sulayem and F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali - that this change will "keep the field closer and encourage closer racing." Former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has arrived in court in London for the latest hearing ahead of his fraud criminal trial later this year. Ecclestone, 92, served as F1 CEO, stepping down when Liberty Media took control of the series in late 2016, being given the title 'chairman emeritus'. United Kingdom tax authorities His Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have alleged that Ecclestone failed to declare more than $400 million held in a trust fund in Singapore. He faces one case of fraud by false representation between June 2013 and October 2016, and although he is yet to enter a plea, it is expected Ecclestone is to plead not guilty. He was joined at the pre- trial hearing at London's Southwark Crown Court by wife Fabiana, with the hearing being overseen by Mr Justice Bryan.
