Verstappen backs Mercedes decision over Monaco upgrades
Max Verstappen has backed the decision of Mercedes to introduce their huge Formula 1 upgrade package at the Monaco Grand Prix instead of waiting until Spain.
The much vaunted upgrade s of the W14 finally broke cover in Monte Carlo on Thursday as Mercedes unveiled the package that was intended to debut at the cancelled Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
Instead of waiting until a traditional circuit in Barcelona next weekend, Mercedes have opted to put the revised sidepods and front suspension on the W14 for the race in Monaco to gain as much data as possible before heading to Spain.
It is a decision Verstappen has fully backed as Mercedes hope the package will get them into a position to reel Red Bull in.
