Sainz reflects amid Binotto rumours: Rome wasn't built in a day

Carlos Sainz has stated that "Rome wasn't built in a day" amid continued rumours over Mattia Binotto 's future at Ferrari . Italian media outlets Sky Sport and Corriere della Sera recently reported that Binotto and the Scuderia had agreed to separate, with Binotto said to have resigned as Team Principal. This follows on from prior speculation in Italian media, which the team were forced to deny earlier in November regarding Binotto's position at the team. After the season-closing Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Sainz was asked for his thoughts on the situation, and whether he would prefer change or stability within the outfit. Sainz angered by Audi switch rumours

Carlos Sainz has been left angered by reports he is set to join Audi when the German manufacturer joins the Formula 1 grid. Audi has secured a minority stake in Sauber ahead of its introduction to the sport from 2026 when the Swiss-based outfit will morph into the works team for the Volkswagen brand in tandem with the incoming power unit regulations. A new extension to Audi's Neuberg facility is under construction to allow for the development of its power units, with the mechanisms needed for the design process under test, with the desire to test a first hybrid engine by the end of this year. But whilst the F1 project is in its infancy, speculation over who could drive for Audi has been rife. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have both addressed rumours that the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion could join Ferrari. Hamilton has long been linked with making a switch to Maranello, with reports this week of a bumper offer coming from Ferrari to lure him to Italy for 2024, with his Mercedes contract expiring at the end of 2023.
