McLaren unveil special livery for final race of 2022

McLaren has unveiled a special livery for the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi. The new look is brought by partner BAT's brand Vuse and their Driven By Change campaign, which also had a similar one-off livery at the same race last year. Designed by Lebanese artist Anna Tangles, the livery will be carried on the MCL36 race cars driven by Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo. Louise McEwen, Executive Director, Brand and Marketing, McLaren Racing, said: “We are delighted to represent an emerging artist’s design on our race cars once again, championing creativity together with Vuse. "Anna Tangles produces stunning artwork and has a powerful story which perfectly embodies the spirit and values of the Driven by Change campaign. The initiative is building a legacy which we are excited to continue driving, using our global platform to amplify the talent of emerging creatives.” Check out the pictures below ...

Albon opens up about 'really special' F1 drivers' night out

Alex Albon has opened up about the F1 driver s' "really special " night out in honour of the retiring Sebastian Vettel at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. All 20 driver s got together for the meal over the weekend of the season finale, with several posting photos of the occasion on social media later on. Albon admits that the event was a memorable one. "The dinner, truthfully speaking, it was really special," he told the F1 Nation podcast after the race in Abu Dhabi. "It was a lot of fun. I think every driver, myself, my cheeks were aching, just smiling and laughing the whole time. So it was really good." When asked for more specific details, though, Albon was reluctant to share too much. "I feel like I'll get in trouble [if I] say," the Williams driver added. "I think that was a strict policy of the dinner itself. We can't say what happened. There were some very good stories being told." ...

Wolff jokes about W13's 'special' place in Mercedes' collection

Toto Wolff has jokingly revealed the "special place" that the W13 will take in Mercedes' collection of F1 cars. After winning eight consecutive Constructors' Championships up to and including the 2021 season, the team faced a more challenging campaign in 2022 and eventually finished P3 behind runaway winners Red Bull and second- place d Ferrari. The W13 was affected by issues such as porpoising, and ultimately proved a much more troublesome vehicle for Lewis Hamilton and George Russell than its predecessors. Hamilton has quipped that he will not be requesting ownership of this particular car, and Wolff acknowledges that it may not exactly take pride of place in Mercedes' line-up of Formula 1 challengers. Red Bull's best special livery designs

Red Bull revealed the winner of their 'Make your Mark' com Pet ition ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, confirming the first of their three special livery design s for the season. The design com Pet ition will allow fans to add their own touch to the as-yet undefeated RB19 at all three United States-based events in 2023, with the striking design submitted by graphic design student Martina Andriano. It will mark only the seventh time Red Bull have changed their livery for a race, although the team ran three camouflage-inspired design s during shakedown runs last decade.
