Hamilton reveals feelings about troublesome 2022 Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton says he is "looking forward" to not driving the Mercedes W13 again after losing his pole position record in Formula 1 qualifying at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

His other record of at least one Grand Prix win is also under serious threat as Red Bull look to have a pace advantage in the UAE, with the 103-time winner previously saying it doesn't mean a lot to him if he loses the accolade.

Speaking after losing the qualifying record, Hamilton admitted he couldn't wait to see the back of the W13 machine.

Hamilton on W13

Hamilton has five second place finishes in 2022 - including in the last three races - but is on course for his lowest finish in the standings since fifth in '09 and '11.

On the back of that, he explained how wouldn't be requesting an example of the car.

"I’m looking forward to the end of [post-season testing on] Tuesday which is the last time I have to drive this thing," Hamilton explained to media including TheFOXposts.Com.

"I don’t ever plan to drive this one again.

"It won’t be one of the cars I request in my contract."

Mercedes started 2022 suffering problems caused by its car bouncing at high speed.

The team scored its first victory of the season in Brazil last week having consistently improved the performance of its W13 since the season began.
