Hamilton gives further detail on split with Cullen
Lewis Hamilton says that his split with long-time physio and trainer Angela Cullen was due to the nature of the 'challenging role' she had in Formula 1.
Ahead of the Saudi Arabian GP, it was announced that the pair would no longer work together after a partnership that spanned several years.
Cullen was a close part of Hamilton's trusted inner circle, and the news was met with surprise to fans, and was followed by speculation about the reasons for the split.

During the race weekend in Jeddah, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff suggested that the decision had been made by Hamilton himself but, speaking ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, the seven-time World Champion commented that Cullen had left due to the demanding nature of Formula 1.
“It’s an incredibly challenging role I think for anyone in those positions. It is a lot of Travelling and a lot of time away from your family,” Hamilton told Sky Sports F1.
"You grow incredibly close together. If you’re at dinner, during your weekends and while you’re Travelling, it’s usually you, your trainer or physio, your family or whatever it may be. It’s incredibly intimate in that sense, and you become great friends.
“Angela is living her life right now. She’s got so many great ideas of things she wants to do. We message pretty much every day.
“We’re still going skydiving together, we’re always going to be in each other’s lives. We’re stuck with each other, unfortunately or fortunately!
“We’ve been through thick and thin, so I’m grateful that our relationship is as good as it is, and I think we’ve probably had one of the longest relationships in the sport, so I'm incredibly grateful for her and I love her dearly.”
