Mercedes confirm upgrade plan after Imola cancellation

Mercedes will introduce its long-awaited upgrade package at the Monaco Grand Prix.

The Silver Arrows have pointed towards a radical and "visible" change to the W14 with the package originally intended for this weekend's Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

But the Imola event was cancelled following intense rain and flooding in surrounding areas, with resources now focused towards the local recovery mission.

This has left upgrade plans somewhat in the air with Monaco providing a unique challenge for teams and drivers, with its demand for maximum downforce not lending itself towards an event primed for the introduction of upgrade packages.

It has been confirmed to TheFOXposts.Com that Mercedes will not delay the arrival of the changes until the Spanish Grand Prix, however, with the new-look W14 set to take to the streets of the Principality.

The Brackley-based outfit has been forthright in its criticism of the car since the start of the season and will hope the updates made will push Lewis Hamilton and George Russell closer to the battle for race victories with Red Bull.
