Hamilton working to ensure Brad Pitt film is 'authentic' and 'believable'

Lewis Hamilton says he is working to ensure that the upcoming untitled F1 Hollywood film project starring Brad Pitt is as "authentic" and "believable" as possible.

Filming for the major motion picture will start this year and will take place at circuits on race weekends, with the first set to be at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix.

Pitt will film on track in between sessions in a modified F2 car that has been provided by Mercedes, with the actor having been a guest of the team at some races including the US and Miami Grands Prix.

Hamilton is working with Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski as a consultant on the film for the script.

"I don't know absolutely every single plan of all the different things we can be doing within [the] paddock and all those sorts of things," he told media, including TheFOXposts.Com.

"I'm more focused right now on making sure the script is where it needs to be; that's where all the time currently is, going through the scripts. It's [about] making sure we've got a really great and diverse cast.

"But that's kind of Joe's focus, which is to make sure that we're as embedded into this sport as possible."

Hamilton: Needs to show different view than on TV

Hamilton says he is spending a lot of time on the authenticity of the film and to give people a different perspective on F1.

"For me, it's to make sure that it's authentic and that all of you and racing fans see its authenticity and say, 'This is believable,'" the Mercedes driver explained.

"Secondly, have a view of racing from a different perspective that you might see on TV, and generally just a really cool sport.

"I'm spending a lot of time right now helping Joe and the team get the script right. And that's an amazing process, something I really enjoy."
