Ex-Alesi Ferrari F1 car up for auction

An ex-Jean Alesi Ferrari 643 driven in 1991 is being in an auction for a presale price of between $3.1 million and $3.6 million in Paris.

The car in the auction is chassis number 127 and boasts a 3.5 litre V12 engine that produces 710bhp.

Alesi drove the car for Ferrari around Magny-Cours in 1991 to finish in fourth place, with the chassis also doing races in Australia and the UK.

RM Sotheby's will put the car up for auction in Paris on February 1st at Salles du Carrousel in Louvre Palace.

Ex-F1 cars fetch huge sums

Earlier in the year an ex-Schumacher Ferrari F300 from 1998 went for $6,220,000 at an auction.

Fernando Alonso's Renault R24 from the final three races of the 2004 season sold for €258,125 in February this year.

In July 2021, an auction for a McLaren MP4-25, which took Lewis Hamilton to the 2010 Turkish GP win, sold for £4,730,000.
