F1 drivers rank top 10 drivers of 2022 season
Max Verstappen has been voted as the best driver of 2022 by his fellow F1 drivers.
In an anonymous vote carried out by Formula 1, the grid were each asked to rank their personal top 10 drivers of the season, using the standard points system of 25 for first down to one point for 10th.
Drivers were allowed to vote for themselves, though not all of them chose to do so.
The scores were tallied up to create a final ranking and, as the table published on Formula1.com shows, Verstappen topped the charts ahead of Charles Leclerc.

Contrasting results to team bosses' vote
While Sergio Perez finished P3 in the World Championship behind Verstappen and Leclerc, it was the Mercedes duo of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton who tied for third place in the drivers' rankings. Hamilton was the only driver not to take part in the vote.
Lando Norris placed in fifth, with Fernando Alonso beating countryman Carlos Sainz to P6, while Alex Albon, Sebastian Vettel and Perez were all level on points in eighth.
The rankings show some differences to those voted for by the sport's team bosses, where Perez was rated in fifth place and Valtteri Bottas – absent from the drivers' top 10 – placed ninth.
Missing from both the drivers' and team principals' ratings was Esteban Ocon, who finished P8 in the World Championship.
