Aston Martin dismiss concerns over impact of break in calendar
Aston Martin boss Mike Krack has dismissed any concerns over the recent four-week gap in the F1 calendar having an impact on the team's momentum.
The squad had a strong start to the 2023 season, with Fernando Alonso claiming three consecutive podium results in the opening races.
Lance Stroll, meanwhile, bounced back from a pre-season cycling accident to finish in the points in Bahrain and Australia, putting the team in P2 of the Constructors' Championship.
Following the cancellation of the Chinese Grand Prix, a break in the schedule has taken place ahead of the upcoming race in Azerbaijan, but Krack is not worried about the impact of this.
Calendar break does not change Aston Martin plans
When asked if the four-week gap in the calendar had come at a bad time following Aston Martin's run of success, Krack told media, including TheFOXposts.Com: "Yeah, but it's the same for everybody.
"It does not really change anything [in] our plans. This race was on the calendar, then it got cancelled, so we use [the break] to do our work.
"But I'm sure all the other teams are doing the same.
"The development race has started, and it is independent of if you have a race now or not. Everybody will be flat out."

Krack on Ferrari/Mercedes battle
Aston Martin currently hold a nine-point advantage over third-placed Mercedes in the Constructors' standings, while Ferrari are 39 points behind in fourth.
The Scuderia had a difficult weekend in Australia, but Krack believes that the battle amongst the three teams will remain close.
"I think everything is very, very close," he explained.
"You have this big midfield where everything is [within] one or two or three tenths, and I think it's a bit the same here in this situation with Ferrari and Mercedes.
"Depending on the circuit, depending on its layout, one has the upper hand, maybe someone else [has the upper hand elsewhere].
"What is clear is that Red Bull is fastest."
